Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) will be at the Penhill community cafe next week to share results of CHEESE thermal image surveys inside a couple of Penhill properties and what was learnt, and discuss how residents want to proceed with starting community projects in Swindon to tackle energy efficiency and reduce fuel bills.

Draught-proofing is the most important and cost effective way to save energy in most houses – cold air leaking in through small cracks can replace the warm air in a room or house quite quickly. But finding where the cold air is coming in can be challenging, and there is more to do as well.

CHEESE (Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts) was started by someone I know in Bristol and has helped many homes in many areas of Bristol. They have a number of trained surveyors with the camera/software kit, and charging a small amount to people can afford it helps fund free surveys for people who can’t. The person who did the two Penhill surveys will be there to explain more. https://cheeseproject.co.uk/
